Princess Estelle Silvia Ewa Mary of Sweden, Duchess of Östergötland was born at the Karolinska Hospital in Stockholm on 23 February 2012 as the first child of Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel of Sweden. She was christened in the Royal Chapel at the Royal Palace in Stockholm on 22 May 2012.
At the age of only eight months Estelle will already have her own exhibition. In the Green Room of the Royal Palace in Stockholm people can visit the exhibition “Prinsessan Estelle – födelse och dop” (Princess Estelle – Birth and Christening). The baptismal font is on display in the Treasury. The exhibition opens on 19 October 2012 and will be on show until 3 March 2013. The opening times are Tuesday to Sunday from 12 to 16pm.
At the exhibition visitors can follow the ceremonies in connection with the birth and the christening of the little princess. A unique film is shown about the preparations for the christening at the Royal Court, a very rare glimpse behind the scenes. Visitors can see Estelle’s christening gown and a selection of gifts she received upon the christening. There are also objects related to historic royal christenings.
